Want to simplify getting to know the 700+ changes coming to CPT® in 2017? You don’t have to do it alone! SuperCoder has posted a table of the changes so you can see updates at a glance.
Even better: The table includes a succinct analysis of each code change so you can quickly grasp how the updates will change your coding in the New Year.
Where is it? Once you’re logged in to SuperCoder, follow these three steps. The table is available to members whose subscriptions include CPT® code search.
Step 1: On the Coding Tools page, go to the left-side menu and select Coding/2017 Code Changes.
Step 2: When the CPT® 2017 Code Changes page opens, choose the tab for the CPT® section you want to review.
Step 3: After the section codes appear, choose from New, Revised, and Deleted to see the update type you want to review.
Bonus: One of the bigger changes for 2017 is the elimination of the moderate sedation symbol. To see which codes the change affects, check out the Moderate Sedation Changes tab. It’s circled in the image above.
Stay tuned: The Advice will also be available on CPT® code details pages for updated codes after the Jan. 1, 2017, implementation date.
