If your subscription includes the ICD-10 CrossRef, you may have noticed that it’s gotten a facelift.
The update simplifies navigation by allowing you to click a letter to see all crosswalked ICD-10-CM codes beginning with that letter. You no longer have to scroll through one long list of codes!
You can see an example below from a CPT® code details page. In the image, note how selecting the letter K (shown in orange) results in a list of codes that begin with the letter K. Tip: You’ll find the same clickable letters if you access the CrossRef on the Coding Tools page in the CPT® ↔ ICD-10-CM widget.
What is the ICD-10 CrossRef? The ICD-10 CrossRef shows the ICD-10 codes most commonly reported together with a CPT® code based on government and private payer data. If you want to confirm that an ICD-10-CM code will support medical necessity for a CPT® code you’re reporting, be sure to check your individual payer’s policy. For Medicare, SuperCoder’s LCD Lookup can help speed your policy search.
