Yag laser for retained cortical material

Kristen Posted Tue 29th of May, 2012 23:35:03 PM

Our Dr. performed a yag laser to remove residual retrolenticular cortical material and membrane formation after cataract surgery. I am unsure how to code this.

The most appropriate CPT code for the given scenario would be: 66821.
You can use the ICD code from 366.5x (depending upon the operative report specification).
