What ICD-9 codes can I code with these gynecology/obstetrics CPT codes?

obinna Posted Thu 08th of October, 2015 15:23:35 PM

A doctor I know told me she coded V22.2 with cpt codes 76805, 76810, and 76817 and they all got denied

So my questions are:

What ICD code (V-code) can I code with 76805?

What ICD code (V-code) can I code with 76810?

What ICD code (V-code) can I code with 76817?

Well, V22.2 is for incidental pregnant state, whereas CPT codes 76805, 76810 & 76817 stand for- ultrasound, pregnant uterus, real time with image documentation, fetal and maternal evaluation, after first trimester single or first gestation; each additional gestation; ultrasound, pregnant uterus, real time with image documentation respectively. So, V22.2 is not appropriate to bill with these codes. There are multiple codes which can be coded with the mentioned CPTs, kindly check the CPT to ICD mapping (ICD-9 V1-X) against every CPT code in supercoder. Hope this helps!

And how do I check the CPT to ICD mapping (ICD-9 V1-X)?

In SuperCoder, there is ICD mapping with every CPT. "ICD-9 V1-X" is a tab for CPT to ICD-9 crosswalk against every CPT. It is very helpful for CPT-ICD mapping.
