SuperCoder Posted Thu 09th of June, 2011 18:52:28 PM

If a pt has already used their (1) physical for that year, what E&M code can I use since Dr sees the patient, but no other dx code. Do I use 99213 and use a (V) code?? Please help.....

Based on the type of documentaion, you need to use the CPT code. If the patient has visited with a complaint, then you can use Office/OP cpt codes 99212-99215(established pt). But, the documentation justified that it is just a physical exam (there is no reason of visit), then you can bill Office Visit CPTs along with V70.x codes.
