Can anyone suggest a diagnosis code for an echocardiogram '93306' that has an indication of: To evaluate the patients left ventricular function. The patient has a history of an aortic valve replacement.
Thank you!

We could figure out the proper Dx code based on impression. If impression says any cardiac disease, then that one should be the primary code and it should be relevant to the procedure. If it says normal, then use code V42.2 (if heart valve replacement is done by homologous or heterologous (animal) or use code V43.3 (if heart valve replacement is done by artificial or mechanical device). Apart from that, if any additional documentation exits such as chest pain, SOB, dyspnea like that and impression is not there, then that one should be the primary Dx.
