I need a broad description enough to get me into a right code for you. Please provide and the Dx suggested by the physician.

Under fluoroscopic the drill holes were made and the pin was measured so as not to violate the proximal interphalangeal joint. the pin was then cut and the claw toe deformity was corrected with the nail facing upwards held in position with the pin.

Use the same codes for claw toe surgery as you do for hammertoe: 28285 (Correction, hammertoe [e.g., interphalangeal fusion, partial or total phalangectomy]).The tendon transfer is usually bundled into the procedure, so your carrier may not allow you to bill separately for it.
