vocal cord polyp

Vicky Posted Thu 25th of August, 2011 17:16:56 PM

Not sure if it is appropriate to use 31541 for excision of left true vocal fold polyp with operating microscope. Description of this code states "excision of tumor". Or would 31536 be more appropriate?

31536 is for biopsy, but 31541 is for excision. So, basically the procedure involved is excision, where we can't use the code for biopsy.
Hence, the correct code is 31541
