Vitamin D Supplement

Melissa Posted Tue 16th of October, 2018 08:54:25 AM
What ICD 10 diagnosis code would we use on a 1 month old breast feed baby needing vit D supplement? She is not vitamin D deficient, our provider just states that some breast feeding babies just need Vit D supplement.

Hi Melissa,

Thank you for your Question.

There is no specific ICD 10 CM code for the above-mentioned scenario as 1 month old breast feed baby needing vit D supplement & She is not vitamin D deficient.

Undermentioned ICD 10 CM codes can be used for reimbursement of these type of claims.

Z00.129 Encounter for routine child health examination without abnormal findings/

Encounter for routine child health examination NOS

Z76.2 Encounter for health supervision and care of other healthy infant and child

Please check with your payer also, if they have any specific guidelines for reimbursement of these type of claims.

Hope this helps!
