VIDEO EEG

Peter Posted Thu 10th of October, 2013 14:36:26 PM

WHEN WE DO A 96 HOUR VIDEO EEG, HOW LONG DO WE ACTUALLY HAVE TO VIDEO TAPE THE PATIENT IN THAT 96 HOURS? MY DOCTOR THINKS THAT IT IS 12 HOURS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.

The video EEG codes are based on each 24 hrs of monitoring, with a threshold of more than 12 hrs of monitoring in that day to use the code without modifier. Otherwise, one would have to use -52 modifier if less than 12 hrs of monitoring is performed in a 24 hr period.
