CPT code 52276 can be used to code Urethral Stricture, incising the scar tissue or stricture within the urethra. However, the above mentioned note uses laser ablation for urethral stricture we can also check with CPT 53899(Unlisted procedure, urinary system). For further assistance, please send some more details of procedure performed.

PT UNDERWENT CYSTOSCOPY--THE MID TO PROXIMAL URETHRA WAS NOTE TO HAVE A SIGNIFICANT URETHRAL STRICTURE--A GUIDEWIRE WAS PLACED & BARELY WENT THRU THE DIAMETER OF THE STRICTURE. HOLMIUM LASER WAS THEN USED TO OPEN UP THE STRICTURE AND HAYMAN DILATORS WERE USED TO DILATE TO #30 FRANCH--REMAINDER OF CYSTOSCOPY THEN PERFORMED

CPT 52276 seems correct code to be billed for stricture removal within the urethra.
