Ultrasound and electrodiagnositc tests on same date of service

Steven Posted Tue 19th of November, 2013 17:08:43 PM

If an electrodiagnostic test is performed on the same date of service as an ultrasound guided procedure, '76942', or an ultrasound diagnostic exam, '76881' and/or '76882', will the ultrasound procedure or exam be reimbursed?

CCI edits do not appear to prevent you from reporting these services together, so the ultrasound services should be reimbursed assuming the usual requirements are met (orders, medical necessity, supporting diagnoses, etc.)
