We had a patient that was scheduled for colon/egd. The doctor completed the egd, but due to poor prep was unable to preform the colonoscopy. The doctor did have the patient return several hours later to preform the colonoscopy , which was a success. What would be the appropriate way to bill?

Hi,

When the patient came for EGD/Colon but physician did only EGD you will bill only EGD. When the patient returned for colnoscopy you will bill colnoscopy code. So, you will both EGD code and colnoscopy code on same day.

Thanks
