Two pap smears, same DOS

Nellie Posted Fri 01st of October, 2010 11:06:32 AM

Seems we came across a patient with two cervi; Paps with pathologist interpretation (88141) were done separately and both charged. I am sure that CCI edits will kick out both charges> I have entered the second with a 59 modifier. Any suggestions.

In case of billing Paps twice on same DOS, 88141 and 88141-59, if additionally we will use 795.08 as the secondary diagnosis on 88141-59, it would be of additional help for better reimbursement.
