Two Hemorrhoidectomies 46255 and 46945 VS. 46260

Camille Posted Sat 11th of May, 2019 14:02:57 PM
Two hemorrhoidectomies were performed during single session for Prolapsed hemorrhoids. Procedure #1, placed proximal stay suture and elliptically excised the internal and the external portions. Procedure #2, this hemorrhoid was suture ligated with figure of eight suture ligatures. Is it accurate to code CPT 46255 and CPT 46945? Thank you!

As per the above mentioned report, physician has performed two hemorrhoidectomies by using two different technique, one is by excision and second is by ligating of hemorrhoids. So, the appropriate CPT codes will be 46255 and 46945.
