trigger point injection

Vangie Posted Mon 09th of May, 2011 18:39:30 PM

I want to make sure I am coding the encounter ticket correctly.

trigger finger/pain, swelling

Impression; This may represent trigger fingers, but may represent some other rheumatoid problem. Today she is sent for an arthritis panel and referral was given to a rheumatologist. She is also injected at the base of the left index and ring and the right index fingers with approximately 20 mg Depo-Medol and 1 mL of palin Marcaine 0.5% and 1% lidocaine at the base of each finger.

There were 3 Injections
1. Base of left index.
2. Ring finger.
3. Right index finger.

20553 (Two to three muscles).

Is this correct? Please advise.
