Thyroid biopsy in the office

Erika Posted Mon 08th of October, 2012 19:06:57 PM

There is a patient the has three nodules on the left lobe of the thyroid that needs biopsy. Do I triple all cpt codes for the biopsy, FNA and guidance?

SuperCoder Answered Mon 08th of October, 2012 19:38:40 PM

For FNA with guidance use 10021 x 3 times

Erika Posted Mon 08th of October, 2012 19:58:38 PM

So I will be only billing 1 code of 60100, 1 code of 76942 and FNA x3?

Hi Erika,

Please provide me the OP report to understand the whole procedure completely.

Thanks
