Thromboembolectomy radial artery with infusion of tPA

Linh Posted Mon 12th of December, 2016 14:21:01 PM
Vascular surgeon performed open thromboembolectomy of radial artery w/ fogarty balloon due to thrombus of radial artery. Radial artery still felt weak so surgeon performed infusion of thrombolytic agent (tPA) via the radial arteriotomy with catheter for 30 mins. This was a slow infusion. Artery was then flushed with nitroglycerin, papaverine, and dextran. Arteriogram was performed and arteriotomy was closed. Besides code 34111, would you code the infusion procedure? If yes, what CPT code would you use?

Yes infusion procedure can be coded with CPT code 34111. Please bill CPT code 37211 for infusion procedure.
