Surgeon performed thoracic bilateral kyphoplasty at T3 and T10 via two separate incisions. Would it be appropriate to use codes 22513 , 22513-59 OR 22513 and 22515? Thank you.

As per the above documentation, appropriate code(s) for bilateral kyphoplasty at T3 and T10 would be 22513 (for initial vertebral body treated in the thoracic area; i.e., T3 AND for each additional vertebral body treated, report one unit of add-on code 22515; i.e. for T10).

 

Note: Codes 22513-22515 specify unilateral and bilateral; do not apply modifier 59 to add-on code 22515.
