Therapeutic procedure for known colon adenom

Eleen Posted Thu 08th of September, 2016 15:14:08 PM
A 45 mm polyp was found in the ascending colon. After submucosal injection of hetastarch stained with methylene blue, the polyp was resected in piecemeal fashion using snare cautery polypectomy. resection edge was ablated using a APC. Do I code it with CPT 43290

CPT code 43290 is not a valid CPT code. Also, we are assuming that above mentioned procedure was performed through endoscopic approach.

The correct CPT codes are:
1. CPT Code: 45381

2. CPT Code: 45385.
