I am having trouble finding a CPT for a Tendon Transfer from one Metatarsal to the other Metatarsal. The OP Note says: The adductor tendon was transferred dorsally along the first metatarsal head and neck area underneath the extensor tendons and sutured into the medial aspect of the first MTPJ capsule. This transfer was designed to create some de-rotation of the hallux as well as helping to close the IM angle as well. Can someone please help me find an appropriate CPT code that Medicare will accept? We billed 28899 but the claim was denied. Thank you!

As per the above documentation, appropriate code would be 28292.
