Team Leader Lab Billing

Diane Posted Mon 29th of June, 2015 17:09:08 PM

Is there a billable code that can be used or a way that we can bill for the following activities related to the receiving, testing, handling and distribution of products received in the Stem Cell Lab that come from but our own institution or outside our facility ie. NMDP (Nation Marrow Donor Program).

Products are received in our Blood Bank. The Stem Cell Lab Technologist will take the product to the Stem Cell Lab where we pull off samples for testing which will include sample for Blood Bank, Hematology, Flowcytometry and Microbiology these test include ABO/Rh, CD34 and CD3 Enumeration, Viability Counts, Sterility Testing and Cell Counts. The product is entered into (our electronically Blood Bank inventory system). Once the necessary testing is completed the product is electronically setup on the recipient and distributed to the floor for infusion by the Stem Cell Technologist. The Stem Cell Technologist is on-call to receive, test, handle and distribute these products.

Can you please be specific when you say activities related to the receiving, testing, handling and distribution, I am not sure which service you would like to code and bill?

I mean, can the questioner be more specific in describing the services which he would like to bill?? The fact that not all services are being provided at one place so we need to be clear about the services we would need to bill.
