TC AND PROFESSIONAL PORTIONS

Emile Posted Fri 30th of September, 2011 11:53:53 AM

A PAIN MANAGEMENT PHYSICIAN UTILISES A ROOM IN A RADIOLOGY FACILITY. THE RADIOLOGY FACILITY BILLS THE TC PORTION OF THE SERVICE AND THE PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR THE PROFESSIONAL PORTION. PROCEDURES ARE DONE WITH FLUOROSCOPY THUS USING AN XRAY TECH. IS THE USE OF THE XRAY TECH INCLUDED IN THE TC PORTION OR CAN RADIOLOGY BILL THE PAIN MANAGER DOCTOR FOR USE OF THE TECH. CAN RADIOLOGY BILL FOR ANY OTHER CHARGES?

As you have said the usual practice they follow is: the radiology facility bills TC component and the Pain Mgt.doc bills the professional component.
Now, for any service provided, be it X-ray, this is the procedure they might be following. So, question of billing Pain mgt.doc for the TC by the Radiiology seems to be contradicting the practice they folllow.
