Wondering about student psychologists administered testing under the direct supervision of licensed psychologists—but wasn’t sure what direct supervision would involve. Would they still need to be present at time of testing or can the licensed psychologists review materials?

Well, it is clearly mentioned that medicare does not pay for services represented by CPT codes 96102 and 96119 when performed by a student or a trainee. So, it is suggested you need to check with your payer for specific guidelines for payment. Hope it helps!

So even if the licensed psychologist is present but its the student administering the test to get hours in, you are staying we wouldn't be able to bill for it. Correct?
Just seeing if there was direct supervision from the psychologist can the student still administer the test?

Well, I am afraid, it will not be paid by medicare as described earlier. But it is suggested to check with your payer for specific guidelines related to this scenario.

When a therapist does three to four hours of testing and then the next day does 3 hours of report writing are we still able to bill for the report time with the same code?

Testing and reporting will be included in same billable code. Yes, it can be billed for the date of testing. Hope it helps!
