Billing for a group. There are counselors that are supervised and who may not be able to bill the insurance. So on the superbill, the supervisor is listed as the billing supervisor. So on the claim , the billing supervisor will be listed on the claim in box #31(rendering) and the group as billing in box 33. Would this be accurate?

Thank you for your Question.

The information you have provided is accurate. As per CMS If the Rendering Provider has been assigned to a Group, that information will be the default for Box 33 and When the ordering physician or non-physician practitioner is not supervising the service, then enter the signature of the physician or non-physician practitioner providing the direct supervision in item 31.

Hope this Helps!
