suctioning tracheostomy

Regina Posted Fri 20th of April, 2012 20:50:46 PM

ER physician suctions patient's tracheostomy. Is this included in the E/M?

Most information seems to refer to hospital staff performing the service and including it when determining the level to report, so E/M seems a likely approach. The one instruction I've seen is not to use 31720 for suctioning.
