Stripping of membranes during craniotomy

Annie Posted Tue 29th of April, 2014 23:26:39 PM

The physician performs a frontal craniotomy for evacuation of a chronic subdural hematoma with membrane stripping. How would the stripping be coded? The codes that I came up with are '61312' and '11100'. Can the stripping be coded separately or is it inclusive.

Yes, code it to 61440 with modifier 59.

Can you please tell me why you choose 11100 here? I am unable to get it
