Stent placement

Yanira Posted Tue 10th of May, 2011 21:32:09 PM

One of my doctors performed a px and he dictated the following in the Operative repor, " The graft was tehm accessed w/ a micropunture needle which was exchanged for a 9-french sheath. In order to prevent collapse of the graft, fluency stents were inserted and deployed at the distal portion of the graft bear the venous anostomosis." My question is regarding the stent placement, can I code for the stent-37205?

You could report 37205 for stents placed in the initial vessel, but for additional blood vessel where a stent is placed, go for 37206.
