What ICD10 would you assign to the following: Atypical Spindle Cell lesion, type indeterminate. This lesion does not have the profile of the gastrointestinal stromal tumor.

Hi,

Spindle cell lesion is a type of connective tissue lesion in which the cells are spindle-shaped when examined under a microscope.

As per the provided documentation, it is not clear whether the lesion is benign or malignant.

If the lesion is benign, appropriate ICD code will be D21.4. However, if the nature of lesion is malignant then the correct code will be C49.4.

please check the path report and then code accordingly.

Hope this helps!

Thanks
