Speech Therapy Modifier

Norelie Posted Mon 22nd of December, 2014 18:59:55 PM

I'm trying to bill cpt codes 92524,92507 and 92520 with Medicare and billed them with -GN modifier. Is this correct, Medicare is denying for incorrect modifier.

Thanks for your question. The GN modifier; Services delivered under an outpatient speech language pathology plan of care can be used on procedure codes 92507 and 92520. Which procedure code did Medicare deny for incorrect modifier?

They denied on CPT 92507-GN

The GN modifier is appropriate for 92507. There could be another reason for the denial. I would suggest that you contact Medicare for further explanation. You may be able to file an appeal.
