Hello, Is it required that a patient have an office visit before a SIBO Breath Test? They are self-referred direct access patient. Thank you!

Hi Selina,

Thanks for your question.

The question is, how does a patient know which test is required. Doctor prescription is must. So, the doctor should prescribe the SIBO Test for the patient. If the patient comes in directly and requests any test, then you should have ABN get signed by the patient to take the payment from the patient in case it is not paid by the insurance.
