Lydia Posted Thu 24th of July, 2014 17:41:14 PM

can someone help me with the cpt code for resection of scrotal lipoma. Incision went down to dartos layer. it was dissected with sharp and blunt dissection and separated from the testicle (LIPOMA). closure consisted of two layer closing with penrose drain in place....

Lipomas are usually coded using integumentary codes. For this you would choose a code from the 11420-11426 range. If a simple closure was not done you would also bill a code specific to the type of closure that performed.

Hope this helps.
