RENAL/PELVIC MASS

Tammy Posted Mon 06th of February, 2017 13:11:30 PM
WHAT CPT CODE SHOULD BE USED FOR ROBOTIC EXCISION OF RENAL/PELVIC MASS? THANKS...

Hi,

You may code CPT 50542 which states Laparoscopy, surgical; ablation of renal mass lesion(s), including intraoperative ultrasound guidance and monitoring, when performed.

This code is specific to ablation of the renal mass or cyst. If we talk about robotic excision of renal/pelvic mass; there is no code for this, use an unlisted laparoscopic renal procedure code (50549).

Thank you!
