Removal of Packing

Nicole Posted Wed 02nd of September, 2015 14:45:34 PM

The patient came in and had a 45020 (Incision & Drainage of deep supralevator). This has a 90 day global period. The patient came back 5 days later and had the packing removed, irrigated and packing reinserted.

I know this would typically be included in the global period but I am billing for an Ambulatory Surgical Center. Is there anything that I can bill out for the use of the facility? The patient had to come here because they needed to be put under anesthesia.

I am at a loss with a code for this one. Any help would be appreciated!
