Release of suburethral scar tissue

Tammy Posted Thu 03rd of March, 2016 16:39:59 PM

Patient had urethral stenosis due to scar tissue. We broke up the adhesions in the mid urethral region to allow urethral laxity and further mobility.

The exact code will depend upon the documentation, such as the cause of development of the scar tissue, or the approach while performing the release of the scar tissue, etc. However, if I have understood your question correctly, the appropriate CPT code to bill for lysis of adhesions in the urethral region will be 53500.
