Reimbursement for CPT code `15777`

Natalie Posted Wed 05th of June, 2013 15:33:02 PM

I am trying to clarify whether I can still obtain reimbursement from payors for CPT code 15777. The AMA CPT code book states that it is an add-on code, but for facial and neck repairs, I am struggling with my doctors to determine which codes would be primary for this to be an add-on code. They are telling me in some instances 62165 is the primary code-I disagree. I believe it would be in the category of 15840-15842-somewhere in that region of codes. Can you help me with what primary codes would be for head and neck surgery to add-on code 15777? Thanks!

"You should report this new code only when the surgeon uses the biological implant material with soft tissue repairs, not for other applications,"

15777 does not have a set of codes it must be billed with, the supply of the biologic implant would be reported separately in conjunction with 15777.
