Then the operative report states Talar Bunionette 5th metatarsal which I think would be code 28110. and dropped second metatarsal for which he did excision inferior condyle second metatarsal would this code be 28112? Thank you for your help !

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

As per the CPT® code 28112 description the provider >surgically removes the bone of the second, third, or fourth metatarsal head when there is a necrosis or infection of the metatarsal head. The description suggest that second metatarsal inferior condyle was excised, please  add modifier 52 for reduced service if the metatarsal head was not completely excised. Other codes seems to correct as per the documentation provided.

>Hope this helps.

>Thanks.
