Can Adjacent Tissue Tranfers be billed when placing a tissue expander for future removal of large AVM. I know they do not bundle but sure it is appropriate to code and bill.

Greetings from SuperCoder.com!

When your physician is placing a tissue expander for future removal of large AVM, you should not report ATT. You should report code for insertion of tissue expander e.g. 11960 (Insertion of tissue expander(s) for other than breast, including subsequent expansion).

Please feel free to write if you have any concern or questions.

Thanks.
