Random biopsy taken

Dawna Posted Tue 13th of November, 2012 19:08:58 PM

During a colonoscopy-If a physician states "random biopsies taken" but does not say HOW those biopsies were taken (i.e. hot, cold) do I need to query the physician or does the term "biopsy" alone indicate 45380?

The biopsy term itself suggests 45380. For a hot biopsy he will specifically says it or uses hot biopsy forceps. The default is cold biopsy only.
