question on cpt codes: 92540, 92543, 92546

Aida Posted Mon 07th of October, 2013 12:13:28 PM

My doctor (a neurologist) is looking into administering an Vestibular and Audiologic function studies. which would include cpt codes: 92540, 92543, 92546.

Base on what I have read this cpt codes can be billed by the doctor has long that he has personal furnished the test to the patient.

This exam cannot be personal furnished by the medical assistant supervised by the doctor and then we bill them.

Please advise.

Correct. The physician must perform the '92540, 92543 and 92546' in order for these procedures to be billed out. If furnished by the M.A. they cannot be billed.
