Pump Revision

Lori Posted Mon 15th of December, 2014 14:37:16 PM

Pump codes are for implantation/replacement or removal. The patient's pump was replaced not that long ago so he does not need a new one. But the provider wants to move the pump pocket to another location. Since there does not seem to be a code for revision and a new pocket is being made for the pump I am thinking that the implantation/replacement code is correct. Please advise?

There is no code for revision. You can use implantation/replacement codes with modifier 52, Reduced services, since the provider is not placing a new device. He just revising the pocket.
