IOWA BCBS WE BILLED 99213 25 (1 UNIT) WE WILLED 62370 (1 UNIT) FOR ANALYSIS PUMP, REPROGRAM AND REFILL AND IT DENIED. J3490 KD BUPIVICAINE, CLINDAMYCIN, PROPOFOL 1 UNIT AND IT DENIED. WHAT SHOULD WE BE BILLING?

Hi, You do not need to report an E/M code for this service as it is included in 62370. Please refer to the following link for details: https://www.supercoder.com/coding-newsletters/my-neurology-coding-alert/reader-question-code-62370-includes-em-work-147013-article Also, most Medicare contractors do not pay separately for Bupivacaine (J3490) unless it is in an implanted infusion pump.
