If the doctor removed multiple stones within the prostatic fossa using grasping forceps, would this be an unlisted code? Or is there a better code that could be assigned for this?

Hi,

Yes, you need to use unlisted code as there is no apprpriate CPT code for removal of stone from prostatic fossa. Using unlisted codes would require writing a letter and linking the procedure performed to a CPT code with with similar time, costs, and effort involved. (in this case, 52317 would be an appropriate code to benchmark).
