Good morning, Does anyone know what the proper code would be for a patient with asymptomatic Atherosclerosis of the lower extremity? I have researched this until I am blue in the face. I have been using I73.9. I don't like to use unspecified codes but there is nothing for a patient that does not have a active symptoms of claudication, rest pain, or ulcer. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Michelle

As per the above scenario ICD 10 CM code I70.209. If asymptomatic states for some kind of arteriosclerosis then I 70.299 would be appropraite to bill.

Hope this helps!
