procedure code(s) for gastric & esophageal stents done together

Elle Posted Wed 17th of April, 2013 18:57:00 PM

Hello...I'm looking for a procedure code(s) for "successful deployment of 2 fully-covered wall flexes across an esophagogastric fistula at the superior margin of the gastric sleeve". Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since a covered wall flex is a stent that is placed through endoscopy, you will have to report the procedure with two units of 43256 (Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagus, stomach, and either the duodenum and/or jejunum as appropriate; with transendoscopic stent placement [includes predilation]).
