PPMs, ICDs, Loop Recorders

Kim Posted Wed 19th of August, 2015 10:10:30 AM

Can you bill for an initial transmission at time of implant for ppm, ICD, loop recorders ? I thought you could not bill anything for 90 days after implant. If you can what codes would you bill ?

Well, initially when it is being implanted then these services are bundled with the primary procedure. But, if there is any mechanical complication with in the global period then it can be billed according to the condition of the patient. It is totally based on individual's condition. Hope it helps!
