Post op period

My physician thinks that he read somewhere that global periods have been done away with. Is this true?

As of now, it stays. Under the new rule, CMS will transition surgical procedure codes with 10-day global periods to 0-day global periods beginning in 2017. Procedures that currently have 90-day global periods will have 0-day global periods starting in 2018. So, the changes are likely to start from 2017.
