pos code please

we billed out 70553 A9579 and 99360 with pos 49 99360 was denied
claim not covered by this payer/contractor you must send this claim to correct payer /contractor do i need a different pis for this code seeing that it is a physician stand by

Since you have billed the radiological services along with 99360, we can analyze the things in the following manner:

The Radiological professional component is billed by adding modifier 26 to the procedure code, and should be billed only for the following place of service locations:

21-inpatient
22-outpatient
23-emergency room-hospital
24-ambulatory surgical center
32-nursing facility
51-inpatient psychiatric facility
61-comprehensive inpatient rehab facility
62-comprehensive outpatient rehab facility
65-end stage renal disease facility

Physician Standby Service (Code 99360)
Standby services are not payable to physicians. Physicians may not bill Medicare or beneficiaries for standby services. Payment for standby services is included in the Part A payment to the facility. Such services are a part of hospital costs to provide quality care. If hospitals pay physicians for standby services, such services are part of hospital costs to provide quality care.
