polyp or not

Posted Thu 19th of July, 2012 13:51:19 PM

During the procedure the dr. removes a polyp by snare icd-9 code 211.3 after the path report returns it stated it was fecal material only. Would one code it to icd-9 569.9?

If the path lab contradicts the surgeon's observation, the patient will have a hard time cleaning his record. The documentation suggested in the guidelines are pathologist terms. Hence code it to 569.9
