Diagnosis: Large collection of tophus material communicating the deep ankle soft tissue structures and the skin surface. procedure: Incision & drainage and Extensive debridement of the infected tophi left ankle. need help with CPT codes. Thanks

Depending on limited documentation, you may report code 10140 for I&D and code 11000 for extensive debridement of skin.

I do not agree with the cpt code 11000 as the diagnosis clearly indicates that both the skin and deep soft tissue of the ankle are infected. Can you please look into this again as soft tissue would be in the Musculoskeletal system Thanks

Soft tissue is confined to skin and subcutaneous tissue. If documentation states that it involved muscles too, then we can consider code from musculoskeletal system. So please provide some more information.
